Miss Tori
“Hi all and welcome to the Dance Connection! I’m Miss Tori and dance has been a part of my life since the age of 3. Teaching dance became a passion of mine right here at DCB. In 2018, my dream became a reality, as I became owner of the Dance Connection. Watching our students expand their dance knowledge, push to achieve their goals, and grow into kind hearted adults brings me so much joy. While dance is what I teach I like to believe that my students take what they learn here and apply it to their daily lives. My husband and I live in Mapleton with our son and dog. In my spare time I’m reading, drinking coffee, trying to find new music to dance to, and enjoying time with my family. I teach all genres and ages so it’s too hard to pick my favorite. Every class and all of my students hold a special place in my heart.”
Miss Heidi
My name is Miss Heidi, and I have been teaching dance for over 30 years. I recently “retired” from full time teaching, but I can’t seem to stay away! My favorite type of dance has always been tap, but I also really enjoy the artistry of ballet and pointe. My husband and I are excited to watch our daughter graduate from NIU this spring and follow her dreams as a musician. When I am not working at Kohl’s or teaching a class or two at the studio, I enjoy snuggles with my yorkie (Duke Silver) and tending to my ever growing houseplant collection. My favorite part of teaching dance has always been watching the students grow into really great adults. I am truly blessed to have been able to teach some of my former students’ children, too!
Miss Tera
Hello! My name is Miss Tera. I started dancing at the age of 5 at the Dance Connection. I danced in high school as part of the dance team after a break in my dancing career and fell in love all over again. I started helping at the Dance Connection in 2010 when my daughter turned 3 and started dancing herself. It has been a joy to rediscover my love of dance along with her. When I’m not dancing, I’m busy teaching Kindergarten, taking care of my very busy family, or working out at the gym.
Miss Amy
Hi! My name is Miss Amy. I fell in love with dance at age 3 and have been dancing ever since. I have taught at Dance Connection for the last 23 years. My favorite style of dance to teach is tap, and I enjoy spotting tumbling. I have 3 young kids that keep me busy. I work at a local school and enjoy seeing kids from school at dance. I love to walk and read in my free time. And am an avid lover of Starbucks!
Miss Josy
Hello! My name is Miss Josy. I fell in love with our studio at the age of seven and began teaching in 2018. I have had dance team experiences in middle and high school, as well as the college level. I graduated from Bradley University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education with endorsements in English as a Second Language (ESL) and Early Childhood Special Education. To say the least, I love working with children. I enjoy teaching tiny tappers, hip-hop, jazz, and lyrical. Outside of dance I teach at a nearby school and lend a hand on my family farm. I’m an avid coffee drinker, Star Wars fan, and I burn through at least one candle a week. I truly enjoy working with our dancers. Not every day can you find a job you love going to, but I found that at DCB!
